For most iPhone users, the release of a cool new app is definitely something to get excited about, especially if it is something that can make our everyday lives that little bit easier. With developmental technology going from strength to strength there is no telling what is right around the corner but for now here is a list of the most popular releases for 2017:
1. Daylight
Particularly useful for photographers looking for the perfect natural light, the new Daylight app will give you an exact breakdown of every variation of sunrise, sunset and twilight times throughout the day.

2. iA Writer
One of the most popular writing apps out there, the iA Writer app has been given an even slicker twist for 2017 with creators heralding it the ultimate immersive writing tool.

3. Mextures
If you’re a fan of Instagram than Mextures will blow your mind, offering a choice of over 150 original textures to add to your photographs along with many other borderline professional tools.

4. Graphic – Illustration and Design
Although this is more of a tool directed at graphic designers and very much intended for use on an iPad, there is nothing to stop amateurs purchasing it and giving it a go for themselves. That is the inclusive beauty of apps these days and of course that bit cheaper than installing Photoshop.

5. Printed – Vintage Design Photo Filters
Another one for any budding photographers out there, this app gives you the ability to add a vintage look to your photographs so that they can be turned in to anything from postcards to posters.

6. Hipstamatic
Another play on the vintage side of photo-editing, the Hipstamatic camera for iPhone attempts to make you believe that you are holding an old style point-and-click camera in your hands, along with the added ability to change focus and lens’.

7. djay Pro for iPhone
It seems that the developers of this app want people to toy with the notion of ‘djaying as you go’ and whilst it has received mixed reviews there is no denying that it has gotten very close to incorporating all of the fundamental components needed to play a djay set – apart from the actual speakers that is.

8. AirPano City Book
One of my personal favourites, the AirPano City Book takes city guides to the next level by actually building a virtual town in front of your very eyes that you can navigate with your touch screen.

9. Elk
Although there are already hundreds currency converter apps out there, Elk has gained critical acclaim for the sheer depth of detail that it goes in to. This is very much a help for those who want to know what they’re spending in a foreign currency but aren’t good at doing the maths in their head as they go.

10. Forest
This lovely little app is a very commendable attempt to get people to leave their mobile phone’s alone. The idea is that you plant a tree and set a goal for how long you can go without touching your phone: if you succeed you can add your tree to your own personal forest and if you fail then your tree will be killed and you’ll have to start again.
