We still find it hard to believe that Brad Pitt is 53 years-old. With a career that began all the way back when he was 23 (in 1987), he certainly has an impressive acting roster to look back through, so we thought it was high time we relived some of his best moments…
1. Thelma & Louise (1991)
For his breakout role, Brad Pitt starred as loveable outlaw J.D. in cult-hit Thelma & Louise. A role which only paid him $6000 at the time!

2. A River Runs Through It (1992)
In the second movie to cement his acting career, Pitt played one of two brothers in A River Runs Through It – unsurprisingly the more troublesome one, Paul – who encounter an emotional journey of reflection and self-discovery.

3. True Romance (1993)
In a cruel twist of irony, considering that Pitt is now widely known to have a regular marijuana habit, his character Floyd in True Romance can only be really be summed up as the ultimate ‘stoner’. He acted it well though…

4. Interview with the Vampire (1994)
Although it can be agreed that he looks super creepy, there is no denying that a young Brad Pitt’s substantial good looks epitomise the allure of his vampire character Louis de Pointe du Lac in American horror Interview with the Vampire.

5. Seven (1995)
There aren’t many people unfamiliar with this gruesome thriller, which sees Pitt alongside Morgan Freeman hunting down a serial killer (played by Kevin Spacey) who is targeting people using the seven deadly sins as his inspiration.

6. Meet Joe Black (1998)
Women of the 90s will all agree that this movie encapsulates Brad Pitt in his prime, with the added bonus of him wearing a perfectly tailored tuxedo for most of the movie. Although the plot is something of a confusing rollercoaster of emotion, to sum it up Pitt plays the embodiment of death and the movie follows the complex relationships he forms with people on earth.

7. Fight Club (1999)
Pretty much one of the best movies of the twentieth century, there isn’t a Brad Pitt fan worth their salt who won’t tell you that Pitt’s multifaceted portrayal of recreational fighter Tyler Durden is one of his best ever performances.

8. Snatch (2000)
Even though some people might have forgotten about it, Pitt’s appearance in Guy Ritchie hit Snatch is one of his most memorable, not least because he gives a very convincing portrayal of a fighting Irish traveller.

9. Ocean’s Eleven (2001)
We couldn’t miss out one of the best heist movies of all time, especially since Pitt plays such a pivotal role as one of the orchestrators, Rusty Ryan, who together with Danny Ocean (played by Pitt’s close friend George Clooney) and a crew of nine others attempts to rob one of the biggest casinos in Las Vegas.

10. Fury (2014)
As we approach the end of our list, this might not be everyone’s choice for one of Pitt’s best movies. But, in my humble opinion, the artistic realism of Fury and Pitt’s powerful performance as dedicated solider Don ‘Wardaddy’ Collier fighting with his crew in the last days of World War II is nothing short of perfection.
